Tran Quoc Tuan

Tran Quoc Tuan’s paintings are like awaken dreams expressed on canvas. Through the subtle brush and palette knife strokes and his very unique style, sometimes qualified as realism-impressionism or even surrealism, the artist take us on a journey through the simple everyday moments of life towards a certain happiness.

In his scenes of life there is always a certain feel of compassion towards his community, wishing people to communicate with each other to overcome differences.
And in front of one of his landscapes, often depicting some urban structures or concrete ruins, one can not but feel contemplation, the desire to find beauty in the most prosaic place.

Tran Quoc Tuan was born in Hai Phong in the North in 1981, but graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts in 2005, majoring in oil painting. He later became a lecturer at the same university, obtained his Masters in Fine Arts in 2011, and is working on his PhD degree. Tuan stands out from his peers in the many awards for his unique skill and style, including the Van Lang Creative Festival (2005), the Young Artists Biennale in Ho Chi Minh City (2009, 1st prize 2011) and an award for Newly Created Artworks (2012).

Tran Quoc Tuan is today an up-and-coming artist, actively collected by major collectors in Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam and the US.
